Southern Ethiopian and Northern Kenya border tribes are fighting luck of water due to dams on the Omo river 6 killed 4


Since the intensification of damming in Ethiopia the Northern tribes in Kenya are fighting with the border line Ethiopian tribes due the scarcity water for their herds.





Six people, including three children, were killed in a tribal clash in northeast Kenya near the Ethiopian border, officials said on Wednesday.

The region is regularly plagued by violence between nomadic groups who compete for scarce economic resources mainly  water.

The number of people dead is six, three children and three adults," after the clash in Moyale disctrict, .

Another local councillor, Mohamednur Korme, said the toll was even higher according AFP.

"Seven dead and three injured are at Moyale hospital, but the number may change due to inaccessibility at the moment," said Korme.

 According to local resident Bonaya Boru: "Many have been displaced and we are worried." He added that local school children would stay home for now ADP reported .

Another resident, who only identified himself as Mr Godana, said: "We are living in fear. You don't know whom to trust because the tribal bitterness is all over the neighbourhood."
